Pillbox trails

History of the trails:

Three years ago I really started to take dirt jumping seriously. I had my GT Chucker, and decided that Woburn, The Track and Shotgun Trails were all too far away so I would have to build my own jumps. The land I use is lent to me by the landowner (free of charge) and my dad has a fork lift tractor which I’m occasional aloud to borrow to help dig the jumps. I started off small with a six pack of jumps, and then got bigger and bigger with more lines and features. Woburn has been a big influence because every time I go there I get jealous of the size and air time of the jumps there, it pushes me on to go bigger and better than before.

Describe your trails:

One roll in at the start of the field leeds to three different lines:

- A small line which consists of a table top and small double.

- A trick line, which is all about lots of speed and boosting big tricks.

- And a flow line which has a couple of hips, step ups and doubles.

It is possible to transfer in and out of the trick line and flow line, which makes it even more awesome. There is also a sick step up trick jump in the woods down the road.

Main diggers/locals:

The vast majority of digging is done by myself. A lot of people complain when they’re the only one who digs, but I’m not too bothered, it’s the way I’ve always done it and I like being able to build the jumps exactly how I want (obviously I appreciate someone coming down to help dig). Div and Gamble do a fair bit too. We’re finally starting to get a bit of a trails scene, yet half the locals still disappear when the weather gets bad...

Updates/changes for 2012:

Quarter pipe, more transfers and a couple of wooden kickers.

Long term trails/digging goals:

To keep the trails as fun as always, get more people digging and go bigger than the previous year.

I would like to ride your trails. Are they open to the public or private/invite only? Is there a local I can contact to ask to ride? And does it matter whether I ride a BMX or a MTB?

Unfortunately these are private trails. If you want to come down for a session then get in contact with me on Facebook (Will Brock). They can be ridden on BMX and MTB.

Nearby spots:

47 trails, City trails.

Any jams or contests going on at your trails this year?

I’m planning a summer jam, loads of sessions, and maybe even a night session.
