Barney

Stonelake

I don't think Barney would mind me calling him a park rat. There’s no doubt about it, he has his whips and coping tricks going on. However what makes him stand out from the rest of the coping crowd is that, despite the few short years he’s been riding BMX, he has an ultra smooth sweet style when he takes a break from X-Games training and flows about. Barney is also one of those learn-a-new-trick-nearly-every-session guys who old timers like me envy a little; his rate of progression is way too high. Anyway, enough from me, here’s what Works ripper Mr Stonelake has to say for himself:

Who is Barney Stonelake?

A creature of habit. He loves familiar surroundings and is never more comfortable than when he’s on his bike.

How did you get into riding?

I saw one of my friends purchase a BMX then I decided to get one and that was it, I basically got pulled in and became more and more into it and involved with the sport.

Best thing about BMX?

Just having a sweet time riding with your friends. Taking everything else off your mind and just chilling having a good time.

Worst thing about BMX?

Getting hurt and not being able to ride.
